I started my counselling training in 2010. I have a Postgraduate Certificate in Counselling Skills and a Postgraduate Diploma in Person-Centred and Experiential Counselling and Psychotherapy with the Counselling Unit, University of Strathclyde. I have some familiarity with Process-Experiential/Emotion-Focused Therapy and some familiarity with the Focusing method (I have completed Level 1 of the British Focusing Association’s Focusing Skills course).

I have an interest in meditation and in 2014 I spent five months living in three Buddhist monasteries/temples in South Korea, Myanmar and Thailand. I now benefit from visiting a Buddhist monastery near Newcastle.

I have a therapeutic interest in the process of complex trauma arising out of routine or prolonged and repeated abuse within a relationship(s). This led me to explore my own experience of routine abuse in childhood and attend Ritual Abuse Network Scotland’s conference on organised abuse and satanic ritual abuse in the UK.
